365 Day Photo Challenge – Day 246

Panama is a turkey vultures haven!

Turkey vultures are in their glory in Panama! There is so much garbage laying around that there is no lack of food for them. You can find these big fellas hanging around any garbage bin that they can get their ugly beaks into! Amazingly though, there is still beauty to be found in these beasts – for example, the way their head looks like a knitted helmet and the intricate layering of their shiny black feathers. Nothing in nature is without some beauty!

There are lots of this birds here in COlombia too, I used to hate them, but a couple of days ago I shot a picture of one of them and actually I liked it, and although they aren’t colorful, there is something beautiful about them, still haven’t figured out what is it yet, but there is something 🙂
