Today I went to an afternoon barbecue at our friends’ ‘beach house’ on El Palmar Beach (Panama). It was a wonderful afternoon, with no rain and enough clouds to make it quite comfortable. A few of us went down to the water’s edge to enjoy the waves when all of a sudden a huge wave came in, knocked the legs out from underneath us, and sent hats, sunglasses and drinks flying. We all had a good laugh as the water calmed, got up and continued our chat. We worked our way back into the water, with another good wave coming in that we bobbed in. However, then came a huge wave that was way over my head! The water carried us like leaves, flipping us around like rag-dolls and throwing us on shore. We quickly got out and decided it was better to watch these waves from the shore! I’m still finding sand in places I didn’t know sand could hide, lol. The ocean is a power thing not to be messed with ;-).
