Today I visited the Hogar Monte Carmelo Orphanage in Chame, Panama. As I walked around the grounds taking photos and speaking with the sisters, I spotted a little puppy flopped on an old sack. He looked so sad and unwell. When I inquired about him, I was told that someone had abandoned him there yesterday, hoping that the orphanage would care for him. They were trying to feed him, but that was all they could offer. So my friend and I decided to give this little guy a chance at life. We asked for a box to transport him and drove straight to the vet – whose office was unfortunately closed. So we continued on to my friend’s house to clean him up. Countless fleas, ticks and mites were washed away, and he was given deworming medicine, a bowl of well-needed food, some water and best of all – lots of snuggles. Every now and then I heard a little whimper come out of him, which tore at my heart strings. We will try and find a home for him. If you live in Panama, and are interested in caring for this little one either short or long term, please let me know! Tomorrow I will share more about my visit to the orphanage.

Such a cutie. I do hope you find a home for him.
