Papaya is one of the many healthy benefits of living in Panama. I have recently learned, in fact, that papaya seeds have some amazing benefits! When they are eaten, they can help protect your body against nasty things like E. coli, salmonella, staph infections, intestinal parasites and toxins in the kidney. Many people papaya enzyme at the pharmacy in order to help them with digestion issues. So why not just go to the source and take the real thing? I’ve started putting the papaya fruit as well as the seeds in my morning smoothies. I’ve also learned that the small papayas taste a little nicer than the large papayas that we had been buying. I usually mix the papaya with mango, pineapple, some fresh lime juice, or something else to balance out the flavors.
