Today I went on an excursion to an Emberra native village near Gamboa, Panama. It was an amazing experience! We were shown through the village, as well as part of the rainforest in order to see different trees and plants and to hear an explanation of what they are used for. The leader provided some information on their history, and we mulled around their central area perusing the pieces of jewellery and crafts the villagers had for sale. The woman in the photo looked like such an interesting person. Her eyes speak volumes.
As I walked around snapping photos, I also noticed a young woman in her ‘hut’, looking down at us. It was apparent she has Down syndrome, and of course I just wanted to hug her! When I showed that I wanted to photograph her she beamed. She seemed quite happy, and was helping to care for the younger children who were around her. I’m sure she is a blessing to her family and fellow villagers!
Beautiful photos Denise. Well done.
Thank! I love both of these pics too!
