365 Day Photo Challenge – Day 83

These are the apples in our Marañon Curacao tree – also known as a Mountain Apple tree. They say this is a ‘relative’ to the regular marañon tree which produces cashews, but this fruit has no nut attached. The fruits are actually quite different tasting from each other, with this fruit being white inside, leaving a rather dry feeling in your mouth after eating it. It has an interesting thickening affect to a fruit smoothie when added in. The best part is just being able to walk into the back yard and pick a ripe one from the tree and eat it knowing there are no pesticides!
