365 Day Photo Challenge – Day 59

What adventure will this collar and leash lead to today?

All I have to do is touch these two items and the dog is at my feet, wagging his tail, awaiting his adventure. Jaco’s collar and leash are well-used. I chose this collar for him in the local Machetazo store because it looked rather ‘macho’ – like Jaco! People ask me all the time what kind of dog he is, or whether we brought him from Canada. They look at him admirably, praising his muscularity and color. In actual fact, I tell them, he is a Panamanian ‘street’ dog who was rescued by a wonderful man who had a heart and saw a better life for Jaco. He wears the ‘Envy’ written on the collar proudly, as he know others envy our great fortune at welcoming such a wonderful dog into our lives. Jaco and I had a great walk today with friends, and he rested below me in the hammock afterwards for hours, enjoying the beautiful summer breeze. Life is good.
