365 Day Photo Challenge – Day 41

Mosquito-fighting plant!

Mosquitoes seem to just love me, yet there are people (like my husband) whom they don’t bother at all. Some things just aren’t fair, lol! This plant was given to us shortly after we arrived in Coronado, about 6 months ago. At the time, it was only about 8″ high, so we planted it alongside a tree. However, today it stands about 5 feet tall!

I was told that if I made a tea using the leaves and drank the tea, the mosquitoes would leave me alone. I diligently made some tea…but it was the worse-tasting tea ever! Nevertheless, I consumed an entire mug of it – a few times. It didn’t appear to have much affect :-(. Today I’ve made a new batch of ‘tea’, only this time instead of drinking it I plan to rub it on my arms and legs as a repellant. Let’s hope it works!
