One of the aspects of Panama that I find very intriguing is the presence of the indigenous native tribes. The most visible in the areas we travel through are the Kuna and Emberá. It is not hard to miss them, as they dress in full ‘costume’ of brightly colored cotton prints, wrappings and embroideries. One of the excursions on my list to do yet is to visit one of their villages – and of course take loads of photos.
The women of these tribes offer various handmade crafts for sale at markets such as the one in El Valle. When we were there a few days ago I was attracted, as always, to the beautifully colored handbags all hanging together. Needless to say, the one in the photo was bought for me as a belated Christmas gift :-). When I was looking around trying to decide what my photo of the day might be, the colors caught my eye yet again and I just had to share!
Beautiful!
