Almost every morning here in Panama I enjoy a fresh fruit ‘smoothie’. It consists of whatever fresh fruit we have at the time – typically our selection consists of pineapple (piña), passion fruit (maracuyá), bananas, and papaya. There is a lovely gentleman who sets up his pick-up truck alongside the road in Coronado and sells pineapple, papaya and plantains – I call him the ‘piña hombre’ (pineapple man). He sells excellent fresh fruit that we use in our smoothies. This morning I’m about to cut up this lovely piña to enjoy!
